Announcing Two Commander Expansions for Star Wars: Legion

“We adapt, or die.”
–Iden Versio, Star Wars Battlefront II

Some Rebel and Imperial commanders prefer to match wits with their adversaries on the open field as they deftly maneuver their troops around the battlefields of the Galactic Civil War. Others take a more clandestine approach, leading daring raids deep in enemy territory or operating independently to accomplish their objectives. Now two elite agents and their loyal companions are on their way to take command of any operation.

Fantasy Flight Games is happy to announce two new expansions for Star Wars™: Legion:

Whether they’re leading an entire army or operating as a covert strike team alongside their droid companions, these versatile commanders can quickly adapt to almost any battlefield situation. What’s more, four new command cards allow them each to use even more of their special training, inviting you to further tailor your strategies to fit their unique skill sets.

Read on for more information on these Commander Expansions!

Spy, Saboteur, Assassin

Cassian Andor has dedicated his life to the Rebellion and his resolute belief in its cause makes him willing to do whatever it takes to complete his mission. As one of the Alliance’s most capable intelligence agents, Andor is well-versed in infiltration and intelligence-gathering techniques, but he can still take a quick Crack Shot at an enemy whether he’s carrying a covert blaster or a sniper rifle. At the same time, Andor’s leadership abilities cannot be denied, and he can just as easily lead an entire army of Rebels into battle regardless of how hopeless their task may seem.

While the nature of Andor’s missions can make it difficult to operate alongside large groups of his fellow Rebels, a reprogrammed KX-series security droid like K-2SO has no such issues. Able to seamlessly blend in with Imperial forces until he’s ready to unleash his massive strength and quick reflexes on his foes, K-2 can help Andor in any situation.

Within the Cassian Andor and K-2SO Commander Expansion, you’ll find beautifully detailed, unpainted, hard plastic Cassian Andor and K-2SO miniatures that feature a wealth of customization options. Cassian Andor, for example, can be assembled with three different weapon options, including his compact blaster or his A-280-CFE in its pistol configuration. K-2SO, meanwhile, can be assembled carrying Jyn Erso’s SE-14 blaster, a grenade, or with his hands free.

Finally, this expansion also contains four new command cards—three for Cassian Andor and one for K-2SO—as well as Cassian Andor and K-2SO’s unit cards and nine upgrade cards that let you outfit this pair with additional weapons, gear, and more.

We’ll take a closer look at everything in the Cassian Andor and K-2SO Commander Expansion in a future preview!

Servant of the Empire

They may be taking the fight to the Rebellion in space or on the ground, but in any arena, Inferno Squad is one of the Empire’s most elite special forces units. As the leader of this crack team, Iden Versio has the experience necessary to lead any Imperial attack group into battle. But Versio’s training at the Imperial Academy on Coruscant has also made her an invaluable asset who can strike out on her own to complete whatever directives the Empire gives her.

Whichever way Versio is deployed, she enters battle supported by the latest Imperial technology. With a quick Pulse Scan,  her ID10 seeker droid can identify multiple targets and enhance her already keen aim. While its range may be limited, this seeker droid can also make attacks of its own, sometimes even incapacitating an entire enemy unit.

The Iden Versio and ID10 Commander Expansioncontains beautifully sculpted, unpainted hard plastic Iden Versio and ID10 seeker droid miniatures that can be instantly integrated into your Imperial armies. As you do, the Iden Versio miniature can be customized with an assortment of head and weapon options to fit your personal taste. This miniature can be assembled with or without the Inferno Squad helmet and can can also appear with three distinct weapons, including the standard issue E-11 blaster rifle or Versio’s personal TL-50 repeater.

Rounding out this expansion are four new command cards—three for Iden Versio and one for her ID10 seeker droid—along with unit cards for both Versio and ID10. Finally, nine upgrade cards invite you to customize their loadouts with more weapons, comms, and more.

We’ll take a look at everything in the Iden Versio and ID10 Commander Expansion in a future preview!

Yet another prize update as we move closer and closer to the Las Vegas Open. Attached is the proof for our Team event and Narrative prize – “Sabacc” inspired card sleeves! Every single player that attends either the Narrative Event or the Team Event will receive a full set of 10 sleeves, enough to cover your command hand with a few spares.

I’ve also included the final final version of the Order tokens. We had to change a few small details so they would show nicely, but overall the samples turned out great, and I am excited to get these produced.

Looking forward to next month!

Announcing the Vital Assets Battlefield Expansion for Star Wars: Legion

“I choose to live for my people.”
—Riyo Chuchi, Star Wars: The Clone Wars

The battles of the Star Wars galaxy are rarely fought simply to gain new territory. No matter if they fight in the Clone Wars or the Galactic Civil War, the soldiers of these conflicts are called to serve in many types of missions, from tense hostage exchanges to payload deliveries to bombing runs. Soon, you’ll be able to send your troops into even more varied engagements. Fantasy Flight Games is happy to announce the Vital Assets Battlefield Expansion for Star Wars™: Legion!

Wherever the battle rages, this pack adds new options to expand the scope of your Star Wars: Legion games. With sixteen finely sculpted battlefield objective miniatures as well as new battle, hostage, and supply cards, this expansion contains everything you need to enhance your battlefield and add new dimensions to your battles in a galaxy far, far away.

Defining the Battlefield

Your Star Wars: Legion battles rage on planets across the galaxy, and while your mission parameters may be clear, there’s no telling what you’ll find once your boots hit the ground. The sixteen objective miniatures you find in this expansion—including two hostages, six bombs, six crates, and two repulsor pallets—can help you create an immersive and thematic battlefiled. Whether you use these miniatures to replace your objective tokens or to simply add Star Wars flavor to your battles, the story of your battle begins to take shape before you deploy your troops with the selection of the battle cards that will define your battlefield and the conditions you’ll be playing under.

With the battle cards in the Core Set and the Clone Wars Core Set, you could be tasked with rallying an army that finds itself in disarray to intercept somevaluable transmissions.  With nine new battle cards that outline additional objectives, deployments, and conditions, the Vital Assets Battlefield Expansion adds even more possibilities to your games, letting you play out a wide variety of new missions.

Among the new options, you’ll embark on a delicateHostage Exchange that tasks you with securing a VIPand transporting them back to your deployment zone. Such exchanges often take place with both sides behind Fortified Positions,  of course, and the barricades this condition card calls for can create plenty of cover for your troops to cover a retreating hostage.

Alternatively, the battlefield could also be littered with useful tools from a Supply Drop.  This condition card introduces a new deck of sixteen supply cards that your units can draw from throughout the battle. Each of these cards provides your unit with a valuable piece of equipment that can support your operations in the field. With some Bacta Capsules,  for example, a non-droid trooper unit can stay operational a little while longer. Similarly, a Field Scanner gives a unit the tactical data they need to take cover at a crucial moment.

Join the Fight

The soldiers of the Star Wars galaxy are trained and ready to fight on any planet under any conditions. Do you have what it takes to adapt to the situation and lead them to victory?

Broaden the possibilities of your Star Wars: Legion games with the Vital Assets Battlefield Expansion (SWL65), available for pre-order from your local retailer or online through our website with free shipping in the continental United States! Look for this expansion to release in the first quarter of 2020.

This set adds ten colors such as Sensor Silver and Separatist Blue to your collection, including two washes for adding rich shading to the troopers and vehicles of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Baby Yoda Miniature Brings Adorable Character to Star Wars: Legion and Warhammer 40K

Skullforge Studios recently featured on Comicbook.com:

Baby Yoda has been stealing Star Wars fan’s hearts in Disney’s The Mandalorian, and in the process has become the internet’s favorite new meme generator. While we’re still waiting on the deluge of official merchandise and swag for the adorable little guy, one Star Wars fan has made it possible to bring Baby Yoda into your favorite tabletop game of Star Wars: Legion or Warhammer 40K, and yes, the miniature is just as adorable as you would expect. The Baby Yoda mini was created by Skull Forge Studios, and you can get the 3D printed miniature now on ShapeWays (via SpikeyBits).

The 3D printed miniature features Baby Yoda riding in his adorable little hover vehicle, and he can be ordered in Smoothest Fine Detail for $11.50. The miniature is within 1:46 and 1:48, and can’t be printed in any other scales.

Now, the miniature is unofficial, so it does not come from Fantasy Flight Games, Disney, or Games Workshop (for Warhammer), but if you’re looking to add Baby Yoda to your tabletop, this is currently the only way to do it. You can check out the adorable little miniature here.
